The Mike Alstott Foundation, along with former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Mike Alstott and members of the Alstott family, will hold a summer bowling party for Camp Redbird participants and athletes from Special Olympics Florida on Friday, July 12, 2024.

At the party, participants will enjoy a pizza lunch, bowling, and a recognition ceremony. Each participant will also receive an event t-shirt and custom participation medal.

Camp Redbird is a summer day camp experience for participants 6yrs and older with a physical, intellectual and/or developmental disability. This 9-week summer camp program is jam packed with fun and educational experiences. From weekly swims at Walter Fuller pool, to creative cooking experiences and crafts, to exciting community trips this camp keeps participants entertained. Camp Redbird consists of three separate programs for youth, teen and adult participants. Reasonable accommodations are assessed and made on an individual and case by case basis.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities who wish to participate, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. The Mike Alstott Family Foundation was formed to allow the Alstotts to assist others in uplifting the minds, hearts and spirits of families and children on their way to realizing their full potential through various events, assistance programs, and celebrations.
